Craig McCabe

Chief Executive Officer, Wesfarmers Resources

Craig has worked in the mining industry for more than 20 years, in roles across both Western Australia and Queensland. Over the past 17 years, he has built extensive knowledge of and gained experience with Curragh, where he commenced as a mining engineer in 2001. In 2017 Craig was appointed to his current position as Chief Executive Officer. He is also a Director of Wesfarmers Resources Limited and Curragh Queensland Mining Pty Ltd.

Prior to his appointment as Chief Executive Officer, Craig held a number of positions at Curragh, including Chief Operating Officer, General Manager, Manager – Business Improvement, Manager – Technical Services and Mining Manager.

Craig holds a Bachelor of Mining from the University of South Australia, a Bachelor of Science, and a Graduate Certificate in Business Administration from the Queensland University of Technology.

Michael Dixon

Chief Financial Officer

Michael joined Wesfarmers in 2000 and has 16 years’ professional experience in commercial and financial roles within Wesfarmers Limited and its subsidiary companies, including 10 years’ experience with the Resources businesses. In 2016 he was appointed to his current role of Chief Financial Officer.

He is also a Director of Wesfarmers Resources Limited and its subsidiary companies. Since January 2012, Michael has also represented Wesfarmers Resources in its 40 per cent participating interest in the Bengalla Mine.

He holds a Bachelor of Civil Engineering (First Class honours) and a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Western Australia, and a Graduate Diploma in Applied Finance and Investment from the Securities Institute of Australia.

Emma Pollard

General Manager, People and Sustainability

Emma is the General Manager of People and Sustainability for Wesfarmers Resources. She has responsibility for all non-Financial and non-Operational areas including People & Culture, Community & Sustainability, Corporate Affairs and Communication.

Emma has over 15 years’ leadership experience and has led HR teams across the globe, including European and Australian/New Zealand regional teams. In addition to the management of the full range of HR functions, Emma has specific expertise in change management, organisational development and merger and acquisition activity, She has worked across manufacturing, pharmaceuticals and other heavy industries.

Emma holds a postgraduate qualification in Human Resource Management from the University of Northumbria, an Institute of Management Diploma and a Certificate of Management Services — both from New College Durham, and a Bachelor of Arts (Hons.) in Business Administration from the University of Sunderland in the United Kingdom. She also holds a Certificate in Professional Coaching.

Tim Peirce

General Manager, Sales and Marketing

Tim joined the Curragh Marketing team in 2010 after working within the Wesfarmers Resources Business Development team for five years where he was involved with investment projects at Curragh.

Prior to joining Wesfarmers, Tim held engineering positions with Worley Parsons Australia in the Minerals and Metals Division and with BHP Billiton at the Boodarie Hot Briquetted Iron project in Western Australia.

Tim holds a Bachelor of Science (Chemistry), Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering and a Graduate Diploma in Applied Finance and Investment.


Johan Ballot

General Manager, Curragh Operations

Johan is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the Curragh mine. He joined the operation in 2013, where he held various leadership roles prior to being appointed to his current position in June 2016.

He has been with Wesfarmers for over ten years, with roles across the Premier Coal operation in Western Australia and within Wesfarmers Resources’ Brisbane office in Queensland.

Johan has more than 20 years’ experience in the industry. Prior to joining Wesfarmers, he worked in a range of roles throughout the mining industries of Australia and South Africa.

Johan holds a Bachelor of Mining Engineering from the University of Pretoria and a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of South Africa.
