Wesfarmers Resources Innovation Awards Winners announced

As part of the Wesfarmers Limited Innovation Awards program the Resources division held its own innovation awards with the winners announced yesterday.

The Wesfarmers Resources Innovation Awards recognise our people and teams for the practical realisation of new ideas, methods or devices that have improved our business outcomes.

The Managing Director of Wesfarmers Resources, Mr Stewart Butel, said that innovation is the cornerstone of our business.

"Encouraging and supporting innovation is critical to our business and these awards provide further incentive for our people to continue looking for and driving innovation in our business," Mr Butel said.

Winners received a range of Apple products from iPod shuffles through iPads for the Gold winners.

The winners of the awards were:

Commercial category

Gold - Introduction of a Large Rope Shovel and Ultra Class Truck Fleet at Curragh North - Tim Peirce, Alistair Macrae, Stephen Downs, Geoff Sengstock and Craig McCabe

Silver - Dragline 302, 555 Upgrade - Greg Sheppard, Ryan Winter, Peter McIver and Michael Wass
